Medicare Supplement Plans Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans are a necessary ingredient to any retiree's financial plan. Medicare itself only has two components, those being Part A and Part B. Medicare is designed to provide basic coverage only, and retirees will be surprised indeed should they rely on Medicare coverage exclusively to pay all their medical bills. Medicare Supplement Plans come in many flavors, ranging from a standardized labeling system from Plan A to Plan J in Pennsylvania. The further down the alphabet you go, the more comprehensive the plans become. These plans are offered by many individual insurance companies in each state.
